What is the Treatment Process in Smile Design?

Smile design can be completed in a shorter period of time or spread over a long period of time depending on the procedure to be performed by taking into account the preferences of the person. What is a Mock-Up Study?

It is a draft study that shows us how we will get a result before the smile design works. First, upper and lower jaw measurements are taken from our patient for whom we are considering a smile design. The impressions are made into plaster by the technician and wax teeth are designed on it. The tooth shapes designed on the impression are applied to the mouth by the physician and additions and subtractions are made with the physician’s eye and finalized to the final patient’s liking.

The gender of the person whose smile design will be made is very important. Because the smile form of men is square or rectangular, while the smile form of women is round or oval.

What are the Criteria to Consider When Designing a Smile?

Age

With the advancement of age, wear occurs on the teeth. The muscles of the upper lip loosen and the muscles of the lower lip sag down under the influence of gravity. In this way, the visibility of the teeth in the upper jaw decreases, while the visibility of the teeth in the lower jaw increases.
